Cyber bullying
November 2nd, 2012
We have decided to discuss cyberbullying.
We have just seen a sad and heart-touching video clip of a girl called Amanda Todd. She had been cyberbullied and stalked for three years because she made the wrong choice of sending a photo of her topless at the age of 12 to an anonymous person. Because of this, she became depressed and commited suicide when she was about to turn 16 years old. We have been discussing cyberbullying because we need to know how to be safe anywhere on the computer.
Here is a link to her video clip.

This story is very sad, I hope Amanda Todd has helped others understand what a problem cyber-bullying is. I urge everyone to help anyone who seems to be acting differently and find out the cause.
Thanks for sending that Fern.
It is very important to know all the rules of cyber safety. It’s sad to know what some of the cyber bullied people do to themselves. That is why you should always talk to your close friends that you can trust to help you. Everybody should know about this because it does really happen in the world.
Cyber bullying most definitely does happen, this is not the first and unfortunately wont be the last tragic outcome. To be a cyber bully is too easy. Image a hurtful message or 5, every time you turned your phone or computer on! Not to mention other social media sites. Growing up can be a difficult time, this new complication of cyber-bullying just makes it harder. Sometimes it might feel that no-one understands – just remember parents, aunties even the teachers have all been through it and want to help. It is so important to talk to someone. For Amanda Todd to have to write down her thoughts – unbelievably sad.
Yes, this is definitley not the first case. Some people somehow get entertainment out of hurting others. Yet, surely her parents would have known about her YouTube posts? Couldn’t they have contacted the police to track down the cyber-bully that ruined their daughter’s life? Has he been found now? If so, what must his sentence be? These are all questions I have been wondering since watching the video at school with the rest of FEAST.
Thanks Tahni and Eilish.
Another Thing you can do is talk to family such as Mum, Dad, Auntie, Uncle, Nan, Pop and older siblings. I would never have thought people would commit suicide over cyberbullying if I hadn’t watched that clip.
Here is the website to it so you know how we feel about it:

It is Very Depressing.
Hi
I have just talked to my Auntie. And she agreed with me that we should talk to someone about things that has happened over the computer. That we are worried about what we have done and we are not happy with it. I am sorry for Amanda Todd lost for her bad choice over the computer. It just goes to show that cyberbullying does happen in the world.
Hi,
I watch Amanda Todd’s clip at home.I think that by one person making a wrong mistake it can cause anything to happen to them. It’s sad what some people can do to themselves over cyberbulling.I think that individuals who see pictures like that shoul spread them around to people and just keep the pictures to themselves. If people can’t help themselves they should not get sent them in the first place.
