Caffeine in drinks
November 2nd, 2012
Hi everybody
This time we are going to talk about caffeine and kids. It is very important to know what caffeine can do to children. Last time we talked about Amanda Todd ( Teenage girl ) who died from cyberbullying.
This time that happened to another girl but this 15 year old teenager died from having 2 monster drinks ( high caffeine drinks ) in one day! It is very dangerous to have alot of caffeine.
We have a question for you:
What do you think about having coffee at primary school?
Please Post your answer ASAP (As Soon As Possible).

Thanks Fern,
I believe that kids can have a little, tiny bit of coffee out of school and no monster drinks such as Red Bull, Monster and others. But one thing that I agree on is not having coffee or caffeine drinks at school because it is bad if you have too much.
Thankyou Amy,
I disagree with Amy because I think that it is a bad idea to have any caffeine at home or at school. You never know what could happen to you if you have a little, tiny bit of coffee everyday. Just remember what happened to that teenage girl I told you about before. Not everything can go right with drinking a bit of coffee.
Ok Fern
You got me on your side with not having at home and especially at school:)
Hi,
I agree with what Fern and Amy have said. They shouldn’t have coffee at school because if one person has too much and they get sick or hurt over it the school would get the blame. Then it would put the school in a bad place.
So we can all agree on something, I would like to say that I believe no child (Under 16yo) should have highly caffienated drinks. It could seriously damage your health and has been proven to affect your brain.
Hi everybody
I am sorry, I made a mistake in my post !
This 14 year old teenager died from having 2 monster drinks ( high caffeine drinks ) in two days! It is very dangerous to have alot of caffeine. We have a question for you:

Hello Fern,
If we take large amounts of caffeine (found in coffee and some other drinks), it can cause nervousness, irritability, restlessness, insomnia (you can’t sleep), headaches, and heart palpitations (the heart can skip beats or beat quickly). When we are young and our bodies are smaller it doesn’t take as much caffeine.
I don’t think children should have access to coffee or the so called energy drinks in school. Remember also, cola drinks tend to have caffeine so too much cola can be the same as too much coffee.

I agree with you Mr.Mannell, it’s not just coffe, cola and soft drinks have caffiene in them as well, but not as much as coffee or energy drinks. But it is still important to be careful.
Hello everyone, I am Tahlia and I am new to blogging.
I disagree with everyone that has posted so far because, I think that it is ok for children to have a little bit of caffine but not to much. Also, we can’t control what other people do.
But there parents should control it.
I think I agree with Eilish,
No child (U16) should be allowed to drink caffine drinks or purchase them!!
And Tahlia I know we can’t stop it compleatly but you can encourage people to do the right thing for them and their body.
Thanks for everyones comments!!
