Hello everyone, here at Westbury Primary School, we have just ran our Cross Country courses. All grades participated inlcuding Kindergarten and Prep. Grade 6′s ran the longest course at roughly 2.5 kilometeres. It was a tough run, but everyone managed to finish, we had one student fall over, but we managed to get him up and running again, thanks to the help of one of his fellow runners and the lovely parents! This event was run at the local Common, and luckily it wasn’t too wet this year. Does your school or workplace have a Cross Country Event? Do you like long distance running events? Please answer!

Hope you all had a great holiday and are ready for Term 2. Unfortunately since last year we have lost Sarra, so we are now back to FEAST.
Hopefully we can continue with this blog through the year as well as write new posts and pages.

We just watched the TV show, Beauty And The Geek. We thought about if the producers of this show are encouraging or humiliating the contestants that are in this TV show.
Is it just some harmless fun or is it dangerous stereo-typing?
Are people offended or have they been told to play the role as a Beauty or a Geek?Filed under Health, Literacy | Comments (3)
With the warm months coming in it’s good to remember sunscreen. The sky may be cloudy, but UV rays can still get through. Skin cancer is a serious problem, so try to remember to keep safe by using these guidelines:
1. Seek shade
2. Wear sun protective clothing that covers as much of your body as possible
3. Wear a broad-brimmed hat that shades your face, neck and ears
4. Wear wrap-around sunglasses
5. Apply SPF30+ broad spectrum water resistant sunscreen every two hours.
It’s not just elderly people that can get skin cancer. Most wrinkles, crows feet and other marks of aging can be because of lots of exposure to the sun without protection when you are young (10-18). For more information go to:
This time we are going to talk about caffeine and kids. It is very important to know what caffeine can do to children. Last time we talked about Amanda Todd ( Teenage girl ) who died from cyberbullying.
This time that happened to another girl but this 15 year old teenager died from having 2 monster drinks ( high caffeine drinks ) in one day! It is very dangerous to have alot of caffeine.
We have a question for you:
What do you think about having coffee at primary school?
Please Post your answer ASAP (As Soon As Possible).Filed under Health, Sport | Comments (10)
