Hello Grade 3/4 Price,
I hope you all have a fun and relaxing Easter holiday. I will be relaxing and recharging my “batteries” ready for the rest of the term.

In class we are studying about family, local, national and global celebrations. What is the best family based celebration you have had. Explain what the celebration was and what happened.
Our class have been looking at a thing called Figurative Language. We have learnt so much about figurative language, like there are lot’s of different types of figurative language. For an example there are Metaphors,Similes and Alliteration. Metaphors are when you describe to unlike things without using the words like or as .Similes are the same thing but you have to use like or as in it. Alliteration is were you make a sentence using the same letter over and over.

Our class has been reading the iconic poem about Australia called “My Country.” In particular focusing on the vivid imagery contained in the poem. The challenge for the students was to turn the words in the poem into colourful drawings. We loved this poem about our country. What is your favourite poem and why?
After watching a short animated video about a Phoenix the students had a go at drawing their own version of a Phoenix. A Phoenix is a mythical bird that arose from the ashes of a fire. Do you know of any other mythical creatures? If so share them here with a comment.
