Recently when I was in the USA I saw lots of skyscrapers, especially in New York. Some of the buildings included The Empire State Building, The Flat Iron Building and the Rockefeller centre. Living in a high rise is not something we have experienced in Tasmania.
When you look at the photos what do you notice about Skyscrapers?
Have you ever been in a skyscraper? Where was it and and what was it like?
What do you think of the art work the children have made based on the idea of the skyscraper?
What would it be like to live in a skyscraper?

Holidays are great. Lots of us have terrific experiences and go to places that we think other people must see. Tell us about one of your experiences and why we should do what you did or or go to where you went. Don’t forget to reply to comments as well as write your own.
Ms Bs place to go….In the holidays I was lucky enough to go to Australia Zoo. Forget about the theme parks in Queensland and have a fantastic experience getting close to a huge range of interesting animals. The baby koala and wombat were so cute I wanted to take them home. Not sure if the dogs would be as keen. For everything, from the landscaping, transport, ease of access and opportunities to meet the animals, it is well worth the price for a great day out. These photos will also convince you to go.

We are talking about the early history of Australia as our Inquiry Unit.
We have been finding out about the FIRST FLEET.
The First Fleet arrived from England to Australia in 1788 bringing a group of people from England and their supplies. The people included convicts, marines, free settlers, soldiers and children. There were 11 ships in total led by Captain Arthur Phillip who would become governor of the new colony which was called at the time New Holland.
We have made models of the First Fleet ships using plastic bottles, paper mache and various other materials.
What do you know about the First Fleet ships?

I took this photo on one of my trips overseas.
When you look at the photo……
What do you think the tiger is thinking?
What do you know, think or wonder when you look at the photo?
Where do you think I was when I took the photo?
I really like the discussion you are having about the photo.
I will tell you the story of the photo and tiger next term.
In the meantime keep wondering and commenting.

We just had our Easter break and had great experiences. We have all written a snapshot about one event. We are each going to share a favourite part on our blog. Please reply to one of our writers if you particularly like their writing, have a suggestion or would like to share your event.
I can feel my heart pumping and my face getting hotter and hotter as I struggle up the last part of the walk to the lookout. The steps are rocky, uneven and very steep. I keep repeating to myself hoping it will be true, “The view will be worth the effort.” Finally using the hand rail I pull myself to the top and step out onto the small iron platform jutting from the cliff. We have just had our Athletics Carnival which was a great experience even though it was really hot. I was thinking about what parts of it will be a memory that you keep for a long time.
Think about your senses. Heard Saw Thought Felt
I remember a school athletics carnival that I went to in primary school. I remember really feeling like I belonged when I was singing the house chant. My house was called Leven (after the Leven River) and it was blue house.
Tell us about your memory of the carnival or other carnivals and why it is important to you. Ask a question as well.
