Welcome to 2013!
Hello all,
Welcome to our class and our classroom blog.
I have been busy learning about how to make and maintain a blog for our classroom. I will be using it to give you great websites to use, to set work for you to complete and to give you a chance to give comments on things I find interesting or thought provoking.
I am really happy to have this opportunity to work with you all and find out more about you and your passions and interests.
To get you started, I will tell you about my life and interests.
I have a husband and two daughters (and a dog). My daughters are in their twenties and live in Melbourne, so I usually see them about four times a year. I keep in touch using email, phone calls, SMS and Facetime. I have also joined Facebook to help keep in touch.
Write on the board your guess of my dog’s name for a chance to win a Chupa Chup! ( Hint – it begins with the letter ‘L’)
I love to garden – especially in my vegetable garden. I love growing all my food and I rarely buy vegies.
I also love to cook. At the moment I am cooking Moroccan and French food a lot, as I am travelling to Morocco in October, and I went to France in 2011.
Comment back, telling me what you like to do in your spare time.

G’day Mrs B,
Since I retired from teaching at the end of 2011, I have started growing my own vegetables. I am not so self sufficient as you appear to be but I do grow strawberries, tomatoes, radishes, beetroot and a couple of varieties of beans and peas. They certainly make a meal taste better when they are picked fresh from your own garden.

Hi Miss W,
I think that if everyone made some time to grow food, we would all appreciate our meals more. Thanks for commenting so quickly, and also thank you for today’s seminar!

Hi Mrs B,
hehe
I have grown vegetables for the very first time this year in my new vegie patch. Luckily for me, the soil was well prepped and it has so far produced an abundance of vegetables. I have my eye on a very orange looking tomato at the moment and I am going to eat him on toast the MINUTE he goes red
My guess on the dogs name is Lulu
Cheers,
Miss S

Miss S
That tomato sounds delicious. I have two small tomatoes I am picking tomorrow, but I don’t think they are big enough to cover a piece of toast! Thanks for commenting
