Hi Class 3/4
This is our class blog for everyone to use. The only rules are that you are polite, experiment to your heart’s delight and use formal english when you write.
Oh, I almost forgot – never use your full name on the website. You can use your username or your first name. This is an important aspect of online safety.
Your first task is to:
- introduce yourself,
- write the name of the book you are reading, and
- suggest what you would like to see on our blog.
Happy blogging!
Ms T
Hello Class
Well you all know me, my name is Ms Thomsett.
I am currently reading Tolkien’s book The Hobbit, which is being made into a movie by Peter Jackson. You may have seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Gollum, Bilbo Baggins and the wizard Gandalf. These characters are also in The Hobbit, which is set in a time before the trilogy. I first read The Hobbit when I was fifteen years old and have never stopped loving it although I didn’t love the part where the goblins ate the dwarves’ ponies.
What I would like to see is everyone in my class active on the blog, having fun and being creative with their ideas. I get excited just thinking about where this could take us. Go Class 3/4!

Hello class 3/4
It sounds like everyone is reading some fantastic books. I have just read a fantastic picture book entitled “Why the Animals Came to Town” by Michael Foreman. It is a great book, Ms Thomsett, to use for prediction activities.
Happy reading grade 3/4, I am very proud of everyone!!!!

Hi Grade 3/4 and Ms Thomsett
Welcome to the world of class blogging. Your are off to a great start with your comments.
I am reading a non-fiction book at the moment called Raw Journaling. It has all sorts of great ideas for creating a mixed media journal. I love The Hobbit and have read it many times since first reading it in Year 7 many years ago. I love the way that Bilbo is very reluctant to have any adventures but ends up on this one anyway. I am looking forward to the release of the movie.
I think it would be great to have some of your artwork on your blog. It could be in a post or even in the header. Maybe you could have an artist of the week and show some great ideas for others to admire?
regards
Mrs S
Hello Mrs S
Thank you for your post. I had a look at the book you mentioned, Raw Journaling, and thought it looked so good that I have bought a copy through fishpond.com.au. I’m very much looking forward to losing myself in the book.
On Thursday, our class is going to have a look at your blog and your class’s amazing artwork.
Kind regards
Ms Thomsett
Hi Everyone,
I love the Blog site and have enjoyed reading your comments. The book I’m reading at the moment is called “The Trumpet-Major” by Thomas Hardy. I have read many of his books because for nearly ten years I lived very close to the place he was born in Dorset, England.
As his books were often about the area I lived in it was not hard to imagine, as I walked about the very old villages, events that he described in his books. For me this made them come to life even more.
Good reading to you all, Mr Wells
Hi class
My name is Mia I’m reading a book called Pony Galore.
I think that we should try to get a newspaper widget. I think that would be really cool to know all the new stuff in the world.
I also think that we should get a drawing widget too and have some different judges on the blog!
