All about me

Hi my name is Annabel,

I have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity have my own blog. As you know it is called Come and blog with me.   I am already part of my class blog called Blogging with 4LB. I live in Northern Tasmania.

I have a younger brother. I only have one pet which is a goldfish as I’m not a big fan of animals, especially dogs! My favourite colour is aqua but I still like purple and light green.

My favourite hobby is to dance and I have been doing that since I was about two years old. The types I do are tap and jazz. I enter competitions twice a year and have been lucky enough to win lots of medals and trophys.

Some other things I enjoy to do include:

  • piano
  • Playing on my iPad
  • Swimming
  • Reading
Please leave a comment and I hope you enjoy my blog …….. Annabel :D

  1. G’day Annabel,
A great introduction. Remember it is easier for your readers if you write in paragraphs.
I also used to teach round dancing which is a bit like ballroom dancing but I would call out the instructions for the dancers to follow.

  2. Hi Annabel,
It was a problem with the settings and because we edited a page that had already been published. I have changed the settings for a week, then next week we will only use new posts or pages.

You should be able to fix it now.

    • Thank you Miss W, I added in another paragraph which came up with a smaller size writing. I tried to fix it but couldn’t find anything to make the writing smaller.

Could you please try to fix this.
      Thanks,
      Annabel :D

  3. Hi, Annabel
It sounds like you do a lot of dancing and enjoy it! I was wondering what is your favourite type of dancing and what is your dance teacher called.

    Bye, Caitlin :)

    • Hello Caitlin,
My favourite type of dancing is probably jazz. I have two dance teachers, one for tap and one for jazz. Their names are Donna and Kelly.
      See you,
      Annabel

  4. Hi Ms. W,
When I tried to acess the online classroom from home, my iPad brought me to the app store. It said to visit the online classroom I had to download an app. Is this what is supposed to happen¿
    Thanks,
    Annabe

    • Hi Annabel,
You’re lucky I read this comment. It is easier if you have a question about our blogging course if you ask the question on the student bloggers blog – perhaps under the page called about this blog. I have sent an email to someone in the Education Department to find out the answer to your question.

  5. Hi Annabel,
Checked about the app. Yes you download it to your ipad. It is free. Then if you want to use the online classroom from home on your ipad, you just click on the app. It goes directly to our online room. But remember, you will need to organize a time that I can be there as well if you want some individual help.
With the app, you wont be able to use the whiteboard tools at all but we can text chat or talk in real time.

  6. I like your blog Annabel. I love its title and its clear design. I’d describe the background colour as aqua and I see that is your favourite colour.

I am a teacher and am writing to you all the way from Greystones, County Wicklow, which is in Ireland.

We have a goldfish too. His name is Bruce and he is twelve years old. He is enormous because my children feed him on demand. He has learnt to tap on the glass when he is hungry. In a way he has trained us :) We also clean out his tank very regularly. That is why he has lived so long I think.

I was sorry to hear, that you are not fond of dogs. Perhaps something happened to you when you were younger that caused you to be frightened of them. We have a beautiful dog. She is a Japanese Akita and she is very loyal and protective. When I was your age I would have been a bit nervous of dogs too, but having them as pets, I have learned what good friends dogs can be to man.

Perhaps you would like to visit our blog sometime http://merrybeau.edublogs.org . The students I teach are somewhat younger than you (7 and 8) and they get very excited when we have visitors to our blog from near or far.

    With every good wish

  7. G’Day Merry,
Thank you very much for leaving a well written comment on my blog. I am very glad I own one. It’s wonderful that no matter where you are in the world you can still visit blogs. I love the idea of that.

Thanks also for mentioning about my background. I had trouble crossing the right one but I thought this one was quite cool. I really think the colour aqua is clear and not to full on…… and extremely pretty of course!

It sounds like you are an awesome goldfish trainer. Bruse sounds cheeky and a little bit demanding! Goldie is the name of my fish and he is quiet and even a bit shy. I have had him for two years and I thought that was a long time for a goldfish, but I must have been wrong because 12… that’s amazing. That’s a great tip to keep the tank clean.

Your dogs seems to be a lovely dog. When I was little I actually loved dogs so I wonder, too if something happened. I can’t remember anything happen but you could still be right. I wonder if having a dog has made a connection between you and the little fury creatures!

I have had a little look at your blog and its really nice. I like the background and its the same as the class blog I am part of. You have sure had a lot of visitors! I don’t blame your children for getting excited when they get a visitor from somewhere else in the world, I do the same. They do a good job blogging when they are younger than me, sometimes I find it hard!

    So anyway thanks again,
    Annabel

  8. Hi there Annabel,
Thank you for your well crafted and well thought out reply. Well done on your paragraphing. That was also well done and made your piece clear and easy to read.
We like to mind our pets well. When I visit a house that has a dirty fish tank I always want to clean it ;)
Certainly when I was younger I wasn’t what we call a ‘doggie person’, but as an adult, since we have had our dog I really have become very fond of dogs.
Thank you for the compliment about our blog.
Yes the Edublogs background is eye catching and that ‘theme’ suits our title and age group.
I am writing this at midday on Saturday in Ireland so I presume you are tucked up in bed.

    With every good wish
    Merry Beau

  9. Hi Annabel
I really think that you did a great job with getting you blog posts done and choosing a great background. I also like Ellie and her flying fish. SO CUTE! Even my parents had something to say about it. My question to you is, what is your favourite book? Mine is JUST DOOMED, it’s really long but good.
    So jealous of your blog,
    Tahlia

    • Hey Tahlia,
I really liked the humor in your comment! I’m glad you thought Ellie was extra cute and even your parents liked her.
My favourite book would definitely be Hiding Edith, which is about a girl who gets hunted down in world war 2. It has a very happy ending after she has found out hr dad has died. I’m sure you would love it!
      Thanks again Tahlia,
      Annabel :D

  10. G’day Annabel,
I found you had uploaded an image to use for your header. I did some fiddling around with resizing and cropping. Is this what you want for the header?

    • Hey Miss W,
Thank you very much for fixing that for me. It is exactly what I wanted. I figured out the photo was to big, but didn’t know how to make it smaller.
      Annabel :D

Miss W or tasteach – challenge organizer

  12. Hi Annabel,
I was just reading Miss W’s post about the Setember 2013 blogging challenge. I noticed that you have added the badge to your blog- great work. I will look forward to reading your ‘challenge’ work soon. Have fun!
    Love Mum :)

  13. G’day Mackenzie and Annabel,
Maybe Annabel can have the same theme, but by having her own picture in the header and having something different in the background, they wont look the same.

  14. Hi Annabel,
I noticed that you have reached over 200 visitors to your blog… how exciting. I’m glad you are still enjoying making comments and looking at ways to improve your presentation ( even though I love the look already :) ) It would be great to read some of your challenge work soon. Have you a favourite part of your blog?
    Love Mum :)

  15. Hey Cooper,
Thank you for leaving a short comment on my blog. I’m glad you thought it is really cool.
Would you be able to tell me the adress to your website please?
    Thanks Cooper,
    Annabel :D

  16. Hello Annabel

I have just been reading your blog – it is great. As I am a little old than you, I haven’t read many blogs.

I really enjoyed reading your posts about the animal cards and limericks. Your cousins have been collecting the animal cards from Woolworths. I will check the numbers of their cards to see if they have any you need.

Here is a good limerick for you, although a little confusing:

A flea and a fly in a flue
Were imprisoned, so what could they do?
Said the fly, “let us flee!”
“Let us fly!” said the flea.
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

Well done on dancing competitions. You have been doing really well. Well done!!

    Keep blogging.

    Uncle Justin

    • Hello Uncle Justin,
I’m glad you are enjoying my blog. I’m also really glad that you liked my posts, I am trying to keep them great using different subjects.
Your limerick was awesome and I like how you used consecutive words which were funny. It was REALLY interesting.
I think these competiions were probably the best place wise, but next comps with a different judge could be TOTALLY different. Haha- Mum still sings frosty the snowman now!!!!! :D
Can’t wait to see you and the boys soon.
      Annabel X :D

  17. Hi Annabel

You are doing a great job with your blog.

A small confession – the limerick wasn’t a “Justin original”. It was written by a famous US poet called Ogden Nash (funny name, hey).

Anyway, hope your first day back at school tomorrow after the holidays is good.

    J

  18. Hi Annabel! This is my first time commenting on a blog! Wow – you have lots of comments! I am
looking forward to visiting you all in January!

  19. Hello again, Annabel!
Oops – I meant to say that Sarah & Charlotte are
excited! (not exciting!)Sorry about that! I did
    smile reading Uncle Justin’s comments!
Sarah & Charlotte love dancing too – they both
do tap and jazz! They don’t go in competitions -
they do a concert at the end of the year – which
    I LOVE!!
love from Vanessa in sunny Queensland xo

    • Hello Vannesa, again!
That’s k that you made a mistake, everyone dooes :)
I also do tap and jazz and LOVE that. Aswell as Sarah and Charlotte I do a concert but it’d not at the end of year.
